What Happened

Halifax LV971, flying with 433 (Porcupine) Squadron from Skipton, came down near Bury, Cambridgeshire on 18 April 1944. The aircraft was lost with all seven crew aboard. Pilot Flight Lieutenant Gerald Boyd Edmonds and his crew — William Wallace, Bruce Tees, Ronald Movold, George Walker, John Evans, James Murie, and George Pidgeon — did not survive. There were no survivors. The cause of the loss is not recorded in available sources.
