What Happened

On 31 March 1945, B-24 Liberator 42-51241, assigned to the 93rd Bombardment Group at Hardwick, came down at South Cove, Suffolk. The aircraft, piloted by 2nd Lieutenant Marvin Tucker, crashed with the loss of all ten men aboard. Among those killed was 2nd Lieutenant Max E. Dailey, aged 21. The cause of the crash is not recorded in available sources. All ten crew members perished, leaving no survivors.
